Every donation will help expand and renovate the library!

The Chelan Friends of the Public Library & the City of Chelan are raising money to rebuild the former Masonic Temple on Emerson Street, built in 1928. The City bought the property and has received grants for the project. The Library Planning Committee is working with the Friends of the Library and the City to raise $160,000 (required by one of the grants as matching funds) by asking the community for donations. Every $ counts!

Can you help make this project a success?

Chelan Friends of the Library Earth Day Book Sale Saturday, April 21, 2012, Riverwalk Park

Significant support for the Chelan Public Library comes from the Friends’ twice-yearly book sales. The Friends help to fund or support annual programs and events such as the Summer Reading Program and Dr. Seuss’s birthday celebration. Selected magazine and periodical subscriptions not provided by the regional library system are paid for by the Friends.
The Friends accept donations of books, videos and DVDs year-round for the Spring Sale (held during the Earth Day celebration in April) and Fall Sale (held in October). Donations of gently-used items may be delivered to the library.
